About Nano Living System

The best combination of many useful properties and intelligent solutions in housing has been found in the so called Nano House developed in the recent years by a group of engineers and researchers in the USA.

The Nano Living System utilizes a series of technologies to create flexible spaces and intelligently designed areas. The most popular is the “suspending system”. This allows the beds to be suspended, within the ceiling cavity, over couch in the living room and over the table in the dining room. To make this work efficiently in the dining room we have incorporated a dining room table that lowers and the chair backs fold down, providing a seamless flow throughout the system.

With multifunctional space solutions, a full size kitchen and bathroom the Nano Living System offers complete comfort within a small living space.

The architecture and the furnishing of the Nano House meets and satisfies modern expectations as well as traditional Chinese feng shui accents that focus on will-being within the home. The living and work space used during the day can be transformed within minutes to provide 2 private comfortable bedrooms, both with king size beds.

When this system is used in our single family home, the Nano House, in can be incorporated with additional sustainable elements, such as our solar panels, rainwater collection system, and gray water recycling system to create a house with a minimal environmental impact and CO2 footprint.

If developing a single family house or a multi family development under 5 stories high our unique steel based SIP’s (structural insulated panels) can be used. Because of their design and construction they provide excellent structural strength and superior insulation rating.

The Nano House is built using recycled and recyclable materials for a truly environmental friendly house.

The Nano House follows:

1) Orientation
The Nano House will always be oriented to collect solar energy, and will be designed to capture the most possible in winter and cooler months and to provide proper shading and cooling (via cross ventilation) in the summer and warmer months. Additionally, these orientation strategies apply whether you are in the country or the city.

2) Insulation
The insulation of a house is very important and that is why the Nano House was designed with the highest insulation for their panels. It is important to remember that it is far less expensive to conserve energy than it is to acquire more energy in order to head a house.

3) Window design
Windows are the passive solar collectors of the house. Vertically oriented glass will catch the low winter sun and miss the high summer angled sun. These types of windows only add to the aesthetics of the Nano House. Proper selection of windows is also an important factor, such as the use of double or triple glazed windows or could pane argon filled windows.

4) Finishing Details
The Nano House has great ventilation and air exchange by use of cross ventilation, has a thermal absorber and buffer system in the living area (to avoid overheating) and can incorporate as well the use of air-to-air heat exchangers. Additionally, the wall and ceiling panel system will absorb heating as well to help moderate temperatures. During the evening hours, this stored energy is radiated back into the room, helping to keep temperature constant.

5) Active Solar Heating
The walls the have a unique concept of applying cladding material that is mounted on the south, east, and/or west walls. Tiny perforations in the cladding allow outdoor air to travel through the exterior surface. During the day, as outside air passes through the panel and along inside surface, it absorbs the sun"s energy, warming the air, which in turn rises. This preheated warm air is then drained into the Nano house ventilation system. During sunny days the preheated air intake temperature is between 17° and 28° C, depending on the desired flow rate. Snow can reflect up to 70% of solar radiation, into the Nano wall, increasing the system"s performance further. The system also works on cloudy days, as diffused light can provide up to 25% of the total radiation available on a sunny day.

The Nano wall can even help cool your home in the summer. The cladding structure shades the interior wall and any hot air that accumulates at the top of the unit escapes through the perforations, keeping the wall surface cooler than it would be if it were exposed directly to sunlight. Electrically (or manually) controlled dampers allow unheated air into the building, maintaining air quality. The dampers can also switch to the winter time position, providing preheated air intake.
